Phone interface
The office building telephone system takes care of billing the renters, and maintains continuous contact with the switchboard. Journal entries on calls from the switchboard are immediately stored on the computer’s hard disk, avoiding the danger of data loss from a power-out.

hereRenter may open an account in the system. This account may include the rental fee or any other service, in addition to the actual calls. Prior definitions may be assigned as to whether calls should be billed:
- by room number
- by extension number
- by PIN code
Any extension or PIN code can be assigned an account. Once assignments are made, the calls are automatically collected in the appropriate account.
The system can determine the cost of phone calls:
- by tariff impulse, or
- by estimated duration of call
Supplementary charges may be added to the cost of the call as desired. The amount of the charge may depend on the following parameters:
- caller’s extension number
- first 5 digits of the number called (indicating local, overseas or other call)
- guest’s group code (e.g., domestic, foreign, discount, etc.)
The system is extremely flexible in the ways of listing information on:
- outgoing calls
- completed and voided bills
- bills turnover
